The French Taco

A fusion of Mexican inspiration and French culinary twists, these tacos swap traditional rice and beans for chips and cheese, enveloped in a massive tortilla and pressed to perfection. Experience a taste of Paris with every bite.

- 100 g grated mozzarella
- 100 g oven chips
- 2 unit
- 50 g pickled jalapeños
- 0.5 unit lemon juice
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tbsp harissa paste
- 1 unit small onion
- 240 g mayonnaise
- 1 handful coriander
- 410 ml evaporated milk
- 120 g Red Leicester cheese
- 120 g Cheddar cheese
- 1 tbsp cornflour
- 1 unit red chilli
- 1 tsp hot chilli powder
- 1 tbsp hot sauce
Steps
- Combine lemon juice, cumin, paprika, chilli powder in a bowl. Add tomato paste, harissa, then onion, mayonnaise, coriander, salt and pepper; whisk well.
- Heat evaporated milk in a saucepan over medium heat. Mix cheeses with cornflour, add to pan with chilli, chilli powder, hot sauce; whisk until thickened.
- Marinate chicken in oil, spices. Fry merguez, set aside. Cook chicken and peppers until done. Assemble tacos with sauces, cheeses, chips, and toppings.
- Cook in panini press or on griddle until crisp and golden.
