Pork Gyros

Classic Greek pork gyros with a flavorful marinade and traditional accompaniments. Enjoy tender, marinated pork slices wrapped in pita with tzatziki, mustard, and fresh vegetables.
Ingredients
- 2000 g pork
- 50 g seed oil
- 50 g olive oil
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 50 g white wine vinegar
- 1 tablespoon cumin
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 2 tablespoons sweet paprika
- 1 tablespoon chili flakes
- 1 tablespoon pepper
- 50 g honey
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 2 tablespoons oregano
- 1 whole tomato
- 1 whole green bell pepper
- 1 whole potato
Steps
- Cut the pork into thin slices and tenderize with a mallet. Combine seed oil, olive oil, mustard, vinegar, cumin, salt, paprika, chili flakes, pepper, honey, garlic, onion, and oregano in a bowl. Marinate the pork slices in the mixture for 12 hours in the refrigerator.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) with fan. Place halved potato on a baking pan as a base and thread pork slices on skewers. Add sliced tomato, bell pepper, and onion pieces on top.
- Wrap skewers with aluminum foil and bake for 3 hours. Uncover and bake for an additional 30-40 minutes until golden brown.
- Cut the baked gyros. Serve with pita breads, tzatziki sauce, mustard, sliced tomatoes, onions, parsley, and French fries.
