Ingredients

  • 7 g instant yeast
  • 120 ml warm water
  • 300 g strong white bread flour
  • 5 g
  • 0.5 tsp baking powder
  • 5 g salt
  • 150 ml natural yogurt
  • 30 g unsalted butter
  • 60 g plain flour
  • 100 g ground almonds
  • 45 g desiccated coconut
  • 60 g light brown sugar
  • 45 g unsalted butter
  • 75 g melted unsalted butter

Steps

    Preparing the Dough

    • Activate yeast in warm water, then mix with flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, yogurt, and butter to form the dough.
    • Knead for 10 minutes, then let it prove for 60-90 minutes.

    Making the Filling

    • Combine ground almonds, desiccated coconut, sugar, and softened butter for the filling.

    Shaping and Cooking

    • Divide dough, add filling, shape into naans, and fry in a hot pan until puffed and golden.
    • Brush cooked naans with melted butter and keep warm in a low oven until served.
