Steps
- Warm the milk and water, then add butter to melt in a separate pan.
- Stir yeast into warmed milk mixture.
- Combine flour, salt, spices, sugar, and chopped stem ginger. Make a well, adding butter, yeast mixture, and beaten egg.
- Mix to a rough dough, knead on a floured surface for 10 minutes. Let it rise until doubled.
- Knock air out, add dried fruit, knead again. Form into 12 balls, let rise until doubled in size, then mark with a cross using a paste of flour and water.
- Bake at 190°C until golden. Glaze with honey.
