Focaccia

A delicious and easy-to-make focaccia recipe, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 1000 g
- 50 g
- 2 tablespoons honey or sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 pinch chili powder
- 900 ml water
- 2 handfuls sun-dried tomatoes
- 150 ml olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic cloves
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- 1 teaspoon rosemary
- 1 teaspoon basil
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 to taste finger salt
Steps
- Combine flour, yeast, honey or sugar, salt, and chili. Add water and mix (dough should be sticky). Finely chop the tomatoes and mix well.
- Cover and let it rise for 40 minutes.
- Mix olive oil, pressed garlic, and herbs in a bowl. Let it sit while the dough rises.
- Punch down the dough to release air.
- Spread the dough on a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Use fingers to make dimples in the dough. Tip: Dip fingers in oil to prevent sticking.
- Let it rise for another 40 minutes. Spread the oil mixture over the dough, ensuring dimples are filled with oil. Sprinkle with finger salt.
- Bake at 200°C for about 30 minutes until golden brown and hollow-sounding when tapped. Let it rest before serving.
