Feijoada

A rich and flavorful Brazilian stew made with black beans and a variety of meats, served with rice, farofa, collard greens, and orange slices.
Ingredients

- 4 cups water
- 2 leaves bay leaves
- 225 g pork shoulder
- 225 g carne seca
- 225 g smoked sausage
- 225 g smoked pork ribs
- 200 g
- 1 large
- 4 cloves
- some to taste salt
- some to taste pepper
Steps
- Rinse and soak black beans overnight in a large bowl with enough water to cover by a few inches.
- In a large pot, combine soaked beans, bay leaves, pork shoulder, carne seca, smoked sausage, smoked pork ribs, bacon, and cover with water. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 2 hours.
- In a separate pan, sauté onion and garlic until golden.
- Add sautéed aromatics to the pot, season with salt and pepper, and simmer for another hour until stew thickens.
- Adjust seasoning, remove bay leaves, and serve hot with sides.
