Doughnuts

Delicious homemade doughnuts that can be filled with jam, chocolate hazelnut spread, or whipped cream.

Ingredients

  • 90 ml water
  • 150 ml buttermilk
  • 1 unit egg
  • 57 g butter
  • 454 g all-purpose or bread flour
  • 57 g sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 5 g yeast
  • some ml oil for frying
  • some g sugar for coating
  • some undefined jam for filling
  • some g chocolate hazelnut spread for filling
  • some g whipped cream for filling

Steps

    Mixing

    • Combine dry ingredients in a bowl. Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water with a pinch of sugar. Add to the well in the dry ingredients along with buttermilk, egg, and melted butter. Knead until dough forms, then let rise until doubled.

    Shaping and Frying

    • Knead dough on floured surface, divide, and roll out to 2 cm thickness. Cut out doughnuts and holes. Let rise on parchment until doubled.
    • Heat oil to 180ÂșC. Fry doughnuts until golden, turning once. Drain on paper towels.
    • Roll cooled doughnuts in sugar. Fill as desired with jam, Nutella, or whipped cream.
