Caprese salad is a simple dish from Southern Italy and the Campania region, named after the island of Capri. It's a national dish served across Italy, best made with high-quality ingredients like good buffalo mozzarella and sun-ripened tomatoes.

  • 2 tablespoons
  • 1 plant Fresh Basil
  • 1 to taste
  • some to taste

Steps

    Salad Preparation

    • With Large Tomatoes: Slice the tomatoes and buffalo mozzarella into thick slices. Arrange them alternately in layers on a plate.
    • With Small Tomatoes: Cut the tomatoes in half. Arrange them on a plate and place mozzarella on top.
    • Drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle a little salt and freshly ground pepper.
    • Garnish with basil leaves.
